Value Stream Manager

Directly responsible to direct and coordinate activities to increase the ratio of value to non-value, eliminate waste, and accelerate product flow to support customer demand.

The scope of work will include focusing on processes within the San Diego site and involvement with “end to end” processes for the site.

Key Responsibilities

Establish current state value stream maps.

Conduct fact-based analysis of current state.

Prepare ideal state map showing optimal processes.

Prepare future state map (both short and long term) that uses Lean Manufacturing techniques to eliminate waste and improve process value in short and mid-term.

Create plan to achieve future state.

Lead the implementation of the plan.

Lead and mobilize people inside and outside of the value stream to enable the required changes (may include customers and suppliers).

Establish key metrics and measures to track the improvement of the value stream.

Escalate issues to management that may negatively impact value streams.

Provide input and analysis during the Annual Operating planning process.

Other duties may be assigned.

Are you the ideal candidate?

Bachelor’s degree
Engineering or science degree.

5-8 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Working knowledge in Lean Manufacturing.

Experience managing value streams desirable
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Project
Experience in developing SOPs, training team members, establishing goals.
