Senior Actuarial Consultant
– Office Based (CA, FL, OH, TX, NJ) or TelecommutingWe are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Actuarial Consultantfor our Actuarial Department.

This position may work in one of our five (5) national offices (Santa Monica, CA, Fort Worth, TX, Cincinnati, OH, Boca Raton, FL or Jersey City, NJ) or be a full-time / part-timetelecommuter.

The Senior Actuarial Consultant’s responsibilitieswill include, but not be limited torate-making and reserving projects for personal and commercial lines of business.

This could consist of rate level indications, class plan analyses, benchmarking analyses, rate/rule/form filings, reserve analyses, self-insured retention analyses, modeling, funding studies and others.This role will work closely with a supervising Consulting Actuary and our other practice areas such as Product Design and State Filings.

In addition, it is expected that this position communicate and work directly with clients and be responsible for meeting a monthly billing target.What We’ll Bring to the Table:Competitive salary including merit-based bonus planFlexible work hoursClear opportunities for career progressionCompany-funded professional educational programGenerous benefits including: PTO, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401K with matching Company contributionsFriendly, dynamic work environmentVisible management commitment to our company core values of: employee development, excellent work product, innovation, integrity, respect for each other and superior customer serviceWhat You’ll be Doing:Reviewing data received from clients for reasonabilityIdentifying and communicating anomalies in data and results of analysesCorresponding directly with clients in working through data issues and investigating unusual results in experienceConverting competitor base rates to common deductible/limit/classDrafting manual pages for new programs and creating state exception pages to address compliance issuesPreparing support for rate/rule filings, including drafting explanatory languageCompiling data requests for reserve reviews, rate adequacy analyses and rate revision filingsWorking directly with Consulting Actuaries on reserve analysesWorking directly with state filings analystsDrafting rate/rule interrogatory responsesAccessing/reviewing rate related laws and regulationsRecommending solutions and/or alternatives to Consulting ActuariesWhat You’ll Bring to the TableBA or BS DegreeThree (3) to five (5) years’ experience working as an actuary in the Property/Casualty industryExperience in ratemaking for personal and/or commercial lines of business preferred, but not mandatorySuccessful completion of four (4) to six (6) actuarial examsExcellent Microsoft Excel, Word and Access skills (Visual Basic (macros) a plus, but not required)Strong quantitative skillsAbility to think creatively / imaginativelyExcellent verbaland written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects with strict deadlinesAbility to work independentlyAbout Perr:Founded in 1994, Perr provides insurance consulting and software solutions to the property & casualty and accident & health industries.
