Director, Global Events


This is a Full-time position in San Jose, CA posted August 13, 2021.

The head of global events will report to Zscaler’s VP, Demand Generation and be responsible for driving the direction and execution of the Zscaler brand experience at virtual and eventually in-person/hybrid industry tradeshows and company-driven global events.

As a member of the demand generation team, this person will develop, manage and measure a portfolio of internal and external event initiatives, including major industry events, global company events and be responsible for the following: Responsibilities/What You’ll Do: Develop and measure a portfolio of internal and external event initiatives, aligned and integrated into Zscaler’s campaigns and overarching marketing strategy.

Plan and drive the execution of our Zenith Live virtual and hybrid (live/virtual) conferences that bring together thousands of our customers and partners from across the globe.

Drive the execution of the Zscaler brand experience and pipeline generation at major industry tradeshows and large-scale company-driven events.

Work closely with the broader marketing team to maintain consistency across all event branding, messaging and programs.

Partner with the demand generation campaigns team to drive high registration and deliver a compelling pre-, onsite and post event experience that maximizes customer and prospect engagement along with driving pipeline.

Maintain a budget for large scale events and closely track spend against targets.

Research and understand personas for each event type to maximize impact.

Set success criteria, measure and report out the impact of each major event on awareness, engagement and pipeline acceleration metrics.

Validate event investment versus the ROI driven from each major event.

Develop strong cross-functional relationships to ensure involvement and input on event strategy from product, customer success, and sales.

Qualifications Qualifications/Your Background: Deep experience in managing complex virtual events in B2B software, SaaS or IT security industries Deep experience in planning and managing virtual, live and hybrid event logistics across multiple teams Experience managing and motivating global teams, remote workers, contractors and vendors Strong analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven marketing Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well across teams, customers, sales, partners, vendors Understanding and ability to align events to demand and account-based marketing programs Outstanding written communication and presentation skills Excellent project management skills with an eye and attention for details Self-motivated and sense of urgency, must have the ability to manage multiple events at one time Must be able to assess and prioritize workload in a strict deadline-driven environment Event management software experience
– Cvent or Aventri (etouches) preferred Some interaction with international teams and occasional travel
