Systems Administrator II

This is a Contract position in Edwards, CA posted June 10, 2021.

ASRC Federal System Solutions is currently looking for a Systems Administrator II who will provide task/ticket monitoring for the work area and basic system administration for the majority of the specialized use workstations at AFRC, primarily in support of NASA Research and Science Missions and the Center’s IT Support personnel.


  • Monitors incoming tasks, contacts customers, and assigns tickets to System Administrators.
  • Monitors status of tickets, inventory, and security-related tasks.
  • Acts as an escalation point for other System Administrators, providing research and resolution of complex issues.
  • Acts as the Information System Security Officer to ensure proper System Security Plan documentation and adherence to security configuration requirements.
  • Ensures all supported systems are maintained at the required security compliance levels for patches, vulnerability mitigations, and OS configurations under the US Government Configuration Baseline standards.
  • Maintains inventory databases for supported systems and ensures regular review of database records.
  • Performs system performance and integration testing to ensure system configurations meet project requirements.
  • Develops and maintains all documentation (including baseline configurations, as well as Work Instructions/Processes) in support of systems to ensure continuity of support and compliance within the System Security Plans.

(Education, Skills & Abilities):

  • Associate’s degree in technology related field with 3 years of related work experience; 5 years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience tracking and assigning tasks.
  • Experience performing systems administration tasks using Windows 7 and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with computer hardware and software troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
