Summary

The Asset Strategy Analyst provides analytical and operational support to the Dam Safety, Asset Management and other business partners within Hydro.  The ideal candidate will work with different data sources and tools, thinking strategically about optimal methods for structuring and presenting data to end users, and putting strategy into action. This role will be tasked with redeveloping existing reporting functionality, designing new reports, performing data analytics, and creating informational dashboards.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects, and translate new ideas from their infancy into concrete, straightforward, and useful business requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in electric utility operations, engineering, finance, maintenance, project management, or related field

Desired Qualifications

  • Certified Associate in Project Management Professional (CAPM) certification or other certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Four (4) years of experience in electric utility operations, engineering, finance, maintenance, project management, or related field
  • Familiarity with SAP WM, SAP Financials, ARIBA
  • Ability to develop visual management reports and dashboards
  • Excel skills including pivot tables/reporting and charting
  • Familiarity with MS Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Knowledge and understanding of utility ratemaking
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources, identify root cause effects, and articulate the business impacts of analysis
  • Ability to excel independently, build consensus, and cohesively collaborate within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Results-oriented skills with a balanced emphasis between quality, quantity, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Creativity and innovation skills

Responsibilities

  • Collects, validates and analyzes data from different applications for trending analysis, metrics, ad hoc requests and other department related data analytic needs.
  • Develops recommendations regarding the development of new tools and processes, and collaborates with Information Technology to acquire and enhance asset strategy tools.
  • Assists with process improvement effort around established business processes and conducts workflow analysis.
  • Transfers and converts information to and from databases and information systems (i.e.: SAP WM) for the support of risk assessment and asset strategies.
  • Develops database query status reports and statistical data analysis for management.
  • Establishes database files to enhance risk assessment and asset management.
  • Conducts economic analysis, trending for projects/programs, operating, maintenance, and investment metrics.
  • Conducts day to day SAP and ARIBA work tasks.
