SCHEDULE: Full-time

Regional Medical Center of San Jose is a 264 bed acute carehospital with a Level II Trauma Center. The hospital provides a host oftechnologically-advanced services including Cardiovascular, Neuro, Orthopedic,Bariatric and General Surgery, Interventional Pulmonologyand services for Women. Regional holds Joint Commissionadvanced certification as a Comprehensive Stroke Center anda Get with the Guidelines- Stroke Gold Plus PerformanceAchievement Award from the American Heart Association/American StrokeAssociation. County-designated STEMI (heart attack) Receiving Center, designated Lung CancerScreening Center, a member of Extracorporeal Life SupportOrganization (ECMO) and is certified by The Joint Commission inSepsis care.

Schedule: 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week)  Shift:  Monday – Friday, Days 

POSITIONSUMMARY:  Renders professionalnursing care to patients within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Supports medicalcare as directed by a physician; functions in accordance with hospital policiesand procedures; meets competency standards for orientation and at least annuallythereafter. Meets responsibilities and performance standards of a RN I.Functions as a clinically competent nurse who provides safe and effectivenursing care in a particular area of practice.  



Minimum:  CA RN license, BCLS, ACLS, PALS

Preferred: CCRN,TNCC



Minimum: At leastone year recent ICU or PACU experience.

Preferred: Twoyears PACU experience in a setting with critical care patients, or two yearsICU experience.



Minimum:  Graduation from an accredited nursing school.

Preferred:  BSN


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Abilityto use critical thinking skills and prioritize aspects of patient care;possesses good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to care for criticalcare patients in the PACU. Ability to care for patients with arterial line, CVPlines and ICP monitoring.
