Internal Communications Associate

This is a Contract position in Carlsbad, CA posted October 8, 2021.

Company Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia The Internal Communications Associate guides internal communications efforts that promote Bank strategic initiatives and core business objectives.

The Associate develops story ideas, promotional schedules, digital signage content, taglines, Bankwide emails, and other communication assets.

The Associate researches and develops content for the Friday File (weekly digital employee newsletter) and C-Notes (the Bank`s Internal Website), provides communication expertise and consultation for other departments across the Bank, and supports internal Bank activities as required.

The Associate must be knowledgeable in the Bank’s Editorial Style Guide.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System.

It helps formulate and implement monetary policy, supervises banks and bank and savings and loan holding companies, and provides financial services to depository institutions and the federal government.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia serves eastern and central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware.

With the Manager, Strategic Messaging, develops and implements the internal communications strategy and coordinates all employee communications to ensure an engaged employee population.

Support the Bank’s strategic messaging platform by identify internal opportunities to connect work to the Bank’s larger communications and messaging goals.

Writes, edits, and proofs stories for the Friday File (the weekly digital employee newsletter); and C-Notes (the Bank`s Internal Website).

In partnership with the Manager, Strategic Messaging, and Digital Content team, informs the intranet content strategy, ensuring a holistic approach to the Bank`s online internal presence.

Serves on the Core Team for the intranet redesign project (currently underway and slated to conclude in Spring 2022).

Develop detailed communications plans to support key Internal Communications projects, initiatives, and priorities to sure messages are reaching Bank employees while supporting larger communications goals and strategies.

Regularly consults with Bank departments and employee resource groups and/or Bank clubs and keeps up to date on any developments, initiatives, and other work that should be shared with entire employee base.

Develops ideas for visual elements to support the articles and works closely with Design Services to obtain photography support.

Serves as the Department`s lead to create and post content (internal communication announcements, alerts, and advisories) using the Bank`s Digital Signage Network.

Provides logistical and messaging support for internal Bank events such as the Town Hall meetings and United Way events.

Assists other Strategic Communications and Digital Engagement staff members with writing assignments and communication projects as needed (the Bank’s annual report, employee calendar, press releases, etc.).

Fulfills job duties and responsibilities in conformance with sound safety practices.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel Knowledge of printing production process Ability to lay out digital employee publications Proven communications planning and strategy experience Knowledge of video/multimedia is desirable Knowledge of PoliteMail, SiteCore, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations or Communications.

Minimum of 2 years of writing or editing experience.

Economic or banking knowledge desirable.
