The Information Assurance Analyst will perform/provide a cybersecurity technical resource, responsible for providing logical technical analysis, support, and guidance to monitor, detect, analyze, remediate, and report on cybersecurity events and incidents impacting the technology infrastructure of the identified customer.
The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the software development lifecycle and/or cloud architecture.
This position is in China Lake, Ca or Point Mugu, Ca.
Basic Qualifications:
• Must have a minimum of a DoD 8570.01M IAT/IAM Level 1 certification (i.e., A+, Network+, Security+, GSLC, etc…).
• Perform real-time status monitoring of internal and customer security equipment (IDS, IPS, HID, firewalls) and systems to determine operational status and performance, using SOC Operational Support Systems (i.e. various SIEMs, security vendor management/console workstations)
• Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution on internal and customer security equipment and systems
• Analyze both raw and processed security event data to identify potential security incidents, threats and vulnerabilities
• Perform initial incident investigation to be used by the Security Analyst for event investigation
• Initiate incident notification, case tracking/management and recovery actions
Desired Skills:
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, including cloud application design, cloud management & monitoring.
• Average to above-average familiarity and understanding and use of SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, proxies, IP Packet Analysis
• Experience working with DoD systems and architectures.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience interfacing with customers.
• Demonstrated ability to own the process and move forward with minimal direction.
