Principal Satellite Vehicle Thermal Systems Engineer

We are seeking a Systems Engineering Center (SEC) Satellite Vehicle Thermal Systems Engineer within the Space Systems (SS) Mission Area of Raytheon Technologies Intelligence and Space business. The SV Thermal SE will help drive the successful execution of the design and analysis of SV thermal phenomena. The SV Thermal SE will be oversee the design, analysis, and testing of system and subsystem components using analysis methods to ensure the delivered product complies with the program requirements.

Required Skills:
• 8+ years engineering experience with at least 5 years working SV Thermal Systems Engineering
• Experience supporting an EO/IR space program
• Experience resolving Thermal and other related problems where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors such as cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability, impact to schedule, and process improvement
• Experience with the requirements development and flow down process. Proven ability to generate requirements for all parts and subsystems to maintain temperatures within qualification ranges (including system sizing, part design, and control elements)
• Experience in research, design, development, analysis and evaluation of components, systems and packages for spacecraft flight operation and testing
• Experience in development of high reliability EO/IR space products
• Experience with system or subsystem level Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V)
• Experience with developing and presenting technical briefings to the customer and company leadership

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
• Ability to access US only data systems

Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Knowledge of STE design, testing or operation
• Experience working with operations staff, sub-contractors, team members and customers

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related discipline

Desired Education:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related discipline

** U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain DoD Secret U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date**
