As a Data Engineer with an agile mindset you will lead the design, configuration, enhancement, and integration of products that meet the requirements of data governance organizations in the business units. You will recommend and implement emerging technologies and facilitate enterprise initiatives and compliance with regulatory directives. Your efforts will enable data citizens across Capital Group gain insights from data assets and drive decisions that help millions of people in realizing their financial goals.

You will be responsible for delivering and maintaining data technologies that support data governance, metadata management, and data quality. You will support and enhance the current technology suite Collibra and Ab Initio, as well as help evaluate and adopt technologies as Capital Groups needs for data governance and metadata management evolve.

  • You have a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
  • You have the business acumen, analytical abilities, and technical skills in translating business objectives into clearly defined requirements and solutions.
  • You have at least 10 years of experience with diverse data architectures and technologies. Product engineering experience with Collibra and Ab Initio, with proficiency in building Ab Initio Mhub metadata extractors, required.
  • You have experience in cloud-first design, preferably AWS, Azure, Cloudera and related metadata capabilities. Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java) highly desirable.
  • Your background includes a minimum of 5 years experience in data architecture and ER/DDD/ORM design in industry standard databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL). You also have experience in writing and optimizing advanced SQL queries with large-scale, complex data sets.
  • You have proven experience with integration, especially, API based integration with Mulesoft and ETL with Informatica Powercenter or Microsoft SSIS.
  • You have experience with Linux and Windows OS for product installation and configuration, and good understanding of networking topologies and technologies, as well as security.
  • Youve led delivery with Agile methods and System Life Cycle Management tools Confluence, JIRA, Bit bucket/Git, Bamboo/Jenkins, XL Deploy, etc.
  • You have experience with reporting/data vizualization tools like Tableau and SSRS.
