SUMMARY: The Principle Investigator is responsible for investigating claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation and violation of AHS policies and procedures.

This includes the responsibility for conducting highly sensitive, critical, confidential and time sensitive investigations.

The position duties will involve analyzing complex information, conducting research and preparing reports of investigations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely oral and written reports of investigation activity to the Office of General Counsel, the Chief of Compliance, the Director of Labor Relations, and other senior leaders.

The position will assist in overseeing AHS’s response regarding whistleblower complaints, claims of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation filed under staff personnel policy and whistleblower policies.DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level.

Ensure appropriate interaction, notification and collaboration with all relevant internal parties and/or external parties and/or external representatives to collect data and prepare response.

Where appropriate, serve as AHS’s representative with external agencies pursuing complaints against the Hospital.2.

Maintains confidentiality of information and identities of all participants in the investigation in accordance with applicable AHS policies.3.

Investigate and resolve all types of employment complaints, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour issues, interpersonal conflict, wrongful termination, etc.4.

Partner with other departments to ensure legal and regulatory compliance while identifying solutions5.

Thoroughly document investigation plans, interviews, summaries and recommendations in a timely, high-quality manner6.

Review departmental case data to identify trends7.

Partner with the line of business Human Resources Consultants to ensure consistent employee relations approach and policy application across the enterprise8.

Tailor and deliver communications in an effective, measured way to help influence the right outcomes with stakeholders and mitigate risk to the company9.

Leverage natural curiosity to thoroughly investigate the situation, while using good judgment to analyze evidence10.

Participate in internal projects that improve processes that require partnership with cross functional teams and integrative problem-solving skills11.

Effectively communicates investigation results, both verbally and in writing so they are placed in the appropriate context and understood by all parties.

Provide testimony as needed in administrative and legal hearings.12.

Train managers and supervisors concerning whistleblower policies and other relevant human resource policies.

Train managers and supervisors in effectively conducting workplace investigations.13.

Knowledge of employment law and employment practices, with preferred experience conducting all types of employment investigations14.

Maintain database and keep appropriate campus representatives advised of status.15.
