Job Title: Senior Engineer III Reports To: Principal Engineer and/or Executive Officers FLSA Status: Exempt Prepared Date: February 25, 2019 SUMMARY: The Senior Engineer III serves as the technical specialist for the organization.

The Senior Engineer III position reviews new methods, developments and recommends any changes needed during the entire process, from start to finish.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Serves as the technical specialist for the organization in the application of advanced concepts, principles, and methods in an assigned area.  Keeps informed of new methods and developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications.  Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates assignments.

 Recommends new practices or changes in emphasis of programs.  Responsible for job profitability of work performed.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:  Applies thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to the variety of aspects affecting his or her organization.  Makes decisions independently regarding engineering complexities and methods.  Applies knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  The ability to see details at close range, but understand the big picture.  Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.  Able to talk to others to convey information effectively.  Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents. MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:  Supervises a staff of engineers and technicians.  Plans, schedules, or coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for multiple major projects, or is responsible for an entire program of an organization.  Reviews operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures.  Responsible for job profitability of work supervised.

DIRECTION RECEIVED: Receives administrative supervision with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.  Professional Civil Engineer License (PE) Required  Structural Engineer License (SE) a Plus  10+ years’ Experience with 2 years Minimum at Engineer V or Equivalent  Proficiency at all of an Engineer V LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Read and interpret technical and business documents  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

 Speak effectively before groups of members or employees of the organization.

Job Title: Senior Engineer I Reports To: Senior Managing Engineer I FLSA Status: Exempt Prepared Date: February 25, 2019 SUMMARY: The Senior Engineer I performs engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance on projects.

The Senior Engineer I monitors progress and ensures conformance to design specification and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Designs a complete project, system, component, or process.  Prepares complete project documents.  Designs and conducts experiments, and analyzes and interprets data.  Formulates and solves problems.  Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.  Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors, and others.  Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments  Responsible for job profitability of work performed.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:  Assigns tasks to and directs engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.  Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of the engineering work.  Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.  Assists with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.

DIRECTION RECEIVED:  Receives general direction on key objectives.  Receives guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteria.  Devises new solutions to problems encountered.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:  Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.  Professional Engineer License.

(PE)  4+ years’ experience.
