Adminstrative Assistant/Receptionist

Open Arms Vocational Services

Open Arms is a family owned vocational service that supports adults who have developmental disabilities by teaching them independent life skills through community immersion.

It is the mission of Open Arms to provide the support needed and help clients become independent through vocational training, social and community interactions.

We help support our clients through person centered planning and exercising community resources, encouragement to develop professional, behavioral and social skills towill help build confidence and the experience needed to pursue their goals and aspirations.


You are responsible for supporting the program director in many different capacities.

Sending emails, co-developing curriculum, scheduling, writing reports, organizing, filing, etc.

Flexibility in this role is key!

Our job coaches are responsible for overseeing a group of adults who have intellectual and/or other disabilities and teach them essential and independent life skills in the local community.

Applicants must also be able to pass a FBI/DOJ background screening and drug test.

The position is categorized as Part Time, with a daily work schedule of Monday thorugh Friday 8:00AM-2:00PM, for a total of 25-30 hours per week.

Create/update/manage schedule for the different groups.

Oversee and support the groups while they access ZOOM and send out the curriuculum each week which is already developed; however you will be helping to plan one day each week.

Assist in data collection from the different groups and writing annual and semi-annual reports.

Develop daily scheudles with the groups.

Errands for the employees and clients.

Filing the paperwork and help maintain program compliance.

At times, teach assigned skills to group, as well as encourage their progression in a loving and caring manner.

Attend staff training’s.


Although, experience in this field is a plus, there is no previous experience required for this position; all employees will receive extensive and continuous training to provide the tools and resources one requires to be successful in this role.

Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.

Currently, our program is operating remotely via ZOOM for 2 hours each day and we are going to begin offereing one-on-one in person services for 1-2 hours each day begining June 1st.
