Job Responsibilities

Viasat is seeking a new team member to support  financial  planning and analysis (FP&A) activities within its Global Enterprise & Mobility segment (GEM), which provides mobile broadband connectivity and related value-add services to commercial and business aviation, maritime, and other mobile markets.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role supporting the Finance organization, which supports functional area leaders in making strategic and operational decisions through solid financial management and analyses.

You will be assigned and lead quarterly financial forecasting, monthly reporting & analysis for various OPEX groups within the business unit, corporate accounting teams, external suppliers & customers, and segment & corporate Finance teams.

You will assist our corporate accounting functions with month-end close cycles.

Job Responsibilities
FP&A lead for OPEX departments (Sales, Program Management, Marketing, Legal, Finance, CTO, and Product Management) Partner with functional business leads to effectively manage their respective areas Annual (Operating Plan), Quarterly, and long-term (Strategic Plan) forecasting of operating expenses, capital spends and headcount Monthly actuals to forecast variance analysis Review and approve OPEX cost center operational expenses, capital and investment spends, and headcount growth Develop solutions for departmental forecasting and tracking internal and external spends Prepare and present monthly OPEX reporting and analyses to segment leadership Establish and report out monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) Ad Hoc and recurring financial modeling and analysis
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related area 5+ years “hands-on” Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) experience Experience owning and managing financial forecasts, including P&L and Balance Sheet Strong financial modeling skills (Excel) Systems experience with proficiency with ERP systems, Excel, and PowerPoint Working knowledge of GAAP accounting Ambitious self-starter with a strong ability to deal with fast-paced environments and ambiguity Superior communication, time management and team-building skills as this position will interact with team members across the business area and corporate functions at all levels US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status may be required for some projects in which case, verification of such status will be required upon accepting employment.

Experience with Oracle and Hyperion/Essbase Prior experience supporting SG&A/OPEX functions in a large publicly-traded company
