Controller for financial services company.

This role is a dynamic position that will most closely fit with a jack-of-all-trades, highly committed, hands on and detail-oriented individual who is willing to do what is needed to get financials done accurately and on time.This person will be responsible for processing accounts payable and expense reports, managing cash, as well as generating financial statements with reconciliations for 5 expense-only entities (2 public corporations and 3 LLCs) in QuickBooks and working with the auditors on the quarterly closes. Will take the lead in partnership with the CFO to file the quarterly and annual SEC reports.Preparation of 10-Q and 10-K for two public corporations.Take the lead but work closely with CFO during monthly close and quarterly/annual financial statement reporting.Financial statement transaction entry and processing for 5 entities (cash, prepaid assets, accounts payable, intercompany, accrued liabilities, partner contributions, interest income).Process and record accounts payable and expense reports (estimated volume is 50 per month in total).Provide support for tax accountants and tax return preparation.Reconcile cash and investment account statements monthly.Work with vendors and partners to obtain receipts, invoice approvals, and collect W-9 forms.Assist with administrative tasks as needed.Experience and SkillsExperience with SEC 10-K & 10-Q report preparation (public accounting or corporate accounting is acceptable)Minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferredBA degree in accountingQuickBooks experience preferredProficient in MSFT office (Excel and Word)Investment company experience preferableAbility to work under tight deadlines, and handle multiple, detail-orientated tasks, as well as changing prioritiesStrong communication skills a mustAbility to grow with the job and take on new responsibilities as neededStrong attention to detail and accuracyMust be able to work independentlyMust be flexible and committedHighest level of integrity and confidentiality, a must.
